Local Government Election 2021 Educational Brochure
Local Government Elections are our chance to be heard on the daily issues we grapple with, and directly decide who represent us at a local government level. We have created this educational brochure to explain what local government is, how it functions, how to get involved with it and most importantly how to cast your vote on voting day!
So, why vote? Local government provides services to everyone living in a municipal area and is responsible for keeping the streets clean, removing the rubbish, keeping lights switched on, and water systems operating. It is our first recourse when we experience a disruption to our everyday life and should develop, support and strengthen its
community.
Being an active citizen and making a difference in society, requires we get involved in our community and democracy at all levels of government. Make sure you are registered to vote in your district by checking your registration status here.
