Together with the Union Of Jewish Women CapeTown, the Cape SAJBD hosted Miriam Gvaram, the Deputy Executive Director of Survivors of Sexual Violence Advocacy Group in Israel. Miriam is a social activist who has extensive expertise in Gender Based Violence, Sexual violence and human trafficking. Miriam spoke to a small group of individuals involved in the GBV arena including therapists and psychologists. Miriam updated the group as to the sexual violence inflicted by Hamas on the men, women and children taken hostage and how the government is currently handling the situation. There were several experiences shared as well as solutions for collaboration, in providing training, assisting the victims and general future solutions. As human beings, we are mortified by what took place on October 7th.
