This message is simple – there can be no space for hatred in South Africa.

We live in a country with constitutional ideals which echo our commitments to shared humanity, dignity, freedom and life. Through “No Place for Hate”, we will fight hatred directed against anyone to combat a culture of racism, antisemitism and prejudice in our country.

Show your support for the campaign in either a personal or professional capacity. It’s totally free and you get to use the campaign logo to publicly show you are actively supporting No Place for Hate in South Africa.

I stand with our South African Jewish Community and their place, contribution and identity in our culturally diverse country of South Africa. May there be love and peace for our neighbours and Jerusalem in Israel from where the heart of our Jewish South Africans is set. May we defend the rights of this communtiy within the cities, within the provinces and within the Country.

I was privileged to be part of the One City Many Cultures project initiated in 1999 by the Cape Times as a result of the Planet Hollywood bomb. Twenty years on and how much has changed? Only with tolerance will we learn to understand and I support any campaign that promotes this. We are all the same underneath - human beings, so let's celebrate our differences and stamp out hatred and prejudice. We can never forget the injustices dealt against so many communities across the world but only by learning each other's cultures can we begin to understand.

Maybe we should focus more on the progenitors or causes of hatred, like resentment and righteous anger. And certainty.

Hatred is very easy and unnecessary because it is destructive. I propose that we socialise our children with love, as it can be learned and socialised. I choose and prefer love though it's not easy it builds, promote empathy and premised on values of mutual respect. So I pledge for love in the world and embracing diversity. The SOMELEZE Women Healing Circles sends our heartfelt condolences for the Jewish Pittsburgh Community.

The Lord said,''say WE'', but I shook my head, hid my hands tight behind my back, and said, stubbornly,''I''
The Lord said , say ''WE'', but I looked upon them, grimy and all awry ,myself in all those twisted shapes? Ah no!
Distastefully I turned my head away, persisting''THEY''
The Lord said, ''say WE'', and I, at last, richer by a hoard of years and tears, looked in their eyes and found the heavy word, that bent my neck and bowed my head.
    Like a shamed schoolboy,
    I mumbled, ''WE'',Lord.
